Before I moved my bird feeder to a hanging location I had it on this platform. Unfortunately it was quite convenient for everyone, including squirrels and mice. After I moved it I noticed little mice climbing in the tree, trying to figure out how to climb down the wire to the feeder. They eventually gave up.

When I took our goats in a few weeks ago, I caught a gilmpse of what I thought was a rat in their bag of barley. So I got a sticky trap and laid it out in the shed to catch it. (I don’t like rats!) Anyway, I made Aaron go check it later that evening (because disposing of them grosses me out) and he came back to tell me that I had caught a chipmunk! I felt terrible! Luckily the little critter was able to pull himself free. It’s funny though how I don’t seem to mind that a chipmunk is stealing our oats, but if it was a rat that would have been different. Poor rats, they always get the bad rap!
